Measles cases in Europe, the Americas skyrocket Measles cases across Europe were up 10-fold in 2024 compared to 2023, while cases in the Americas so far this year are 11-fold higher, according to updates today from the European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control (ECDC) and the World Health Organization (WHO). European Commission plans emergency measures to combat bird flu in Poland WARSAW (Reuters) -The European Commission plans to adopt emergency measures next week to stop the spread of bird flu in two regions of Poland, a spokesperson said on Friday. There have been 73 confirmed outbreaks of Highly Pathogenic Avian Influenza (HPAI) in Poland in the last two months, with 53 of those in the Masovian and Greater Poland regions.
